The Pokémon Company International manages the Pokémon property outside of Asia and is responsible for brand management, licensing and marketing, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the animated TV series, home entertainment, and the official Pokémon website. Pokémon was launched in Japan in 1996 and today is one of the most popular children’s entertainment properties in the world.

This role will be managing Organized Play Market Development initiatives and activities in Spain and Portugal. A successful hire will be responsible for onboarding retail locations in assigned markets, managing day-to-day customer relationships and plans, and executing events and projects as per annual market development plans.
What you’ll do
- Managing Organized Play Market Development across Southern Europe: Identify and develop retail accounts and relationship programs to grow the network for Play! Pokémon programs; recruit, develop, and manage Play! Pokémon Store partnerships; promote programs with internal and external stakeholders; evaluate program trends and provide analysis and recommendations; work toward mutual goals and objectives; provide KPI analyses, long-range forecasting, and partnership suggestions; monitor and evaluate program impact; monitor competitor activity; attend key international events; and manage vendor contracts.
- Daily Support & Administration: Onboard new leagues including review/processing of applications and venue reviews; execute roll-outs of Play! Pokémon Programs; support, plan, and execute projects of differing scope such as Meet & Greets, Retailer Days, Trade Shows, and Store Tours; work with CRM systems and handle user data; coordinate and reply to customer service escalations; and investigate and document retail program policy compliance in close collaboration with the Trust & Safety Team.
What you’ll bring
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of related professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
- Fluent or near-native Spanish and English languages (both written and spoken) required; other European languages are a plus.
- Additional marketing, sales, or project management qualifications desirable.
- Great communicator, coordinator, organiser, and presenter who can effectively manage projects and engage with people.
- Highly numerate and goal-oriented with the ability to independently handle and organise various types of data.
- Comfortable presenting in front of professional audiences, both in-person and online.
- Knowledge of retail development and/or grassroots play retention programs desirable.
- Ability to analyse and present information in concise overviews to peers, management, and customers.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office 365, with familiarity in Salesforce or similar CRM systems and data management tools desirable.
