Digital Sun is a standout studio in the indie game world. With three successful titles behind us, we’re always pushing creative boundaries and exploring new frontiers. Now, we’re searching for talented individuals to join us as we take on fresh challenges and continue shaping the future of indie gaming. We are seeking a creative and talented 3D Character Artist to join our team, whether in our in-house office in the vibrant city of Valencia, Spain, or fully remote for the right candidate.


Minimum Requirements

  1. Experience in 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) with at least 2 years of professional or personal project experience.
  2. Strong understanding of character modeling, texturing, and UV mapping for games.
  3. Experience creating both high-poly and low-poly character models optimized for real-time rendering.
  4. Strong art foundations, preferably with fine arts or illustration studies, with a portfolio showcasing character-focused 3D work.
  5. Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) and their asset pipelines.
  6. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce, Plastic SCM).
  7. Good understanding of lighting, shading, and rendering techniques applied to characters.
  8. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a Spanish and English-speaking environment.


Desired Requirements

  1. Knowledge of PBR workflows for texturing (e.g., Substance Painter, Photoshop).
  2. Experience with ZBrush or other sculpting tools for character creation.
  3. Basic understanding of rigging and skinning characters for animation.
  4. Experience with motion capture workflows and creating assets compatible with mocap pipelines.
  5. Familiarity with facial animation systems and blend shapes.
  6. Knowledge of VFX and particle systems as applied to characters.
  7. Experience with console and PC development.
  8. Familiarity with agile development processes (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).
